Pendle Race Squad News Summer 2005

Skiing doesn’t stop for summer!!!

I’d like to start by welcoming the very many new members of the Pendle Race Squad. They include:-

Katie Adams; Sam Dixon; Callum Highet; Callum Witts; Kaigan Witts; Adam Hutchings; Andrew Marshall; Andy Evans; Jordan Lightbown; Joe Conlon; Emma Greenhalgh and Jenny Barnes.

Some of our new squad members are just starting to race, finding their slalom legs, whilst others are established racers. We are also pleased to welcome back Tom Kenny, Dan Wyatt and Alicia Kirk.

Summer is the busiest time for racing in the UK and all of our members have been in action up and down the country.

After a couple of seasons break we are once again being represented at the Rossendale Summer Race League. Unfortunately we were unable to compete in May but turned out in force for the June races. Congratulations to all the following who notched up points for Pendle last time out:-

Marcus Orrell; Vicky-Lynn Orrell; Brad Morgan; Andy Marshall; Kaigan Witts; Callum Witts; Becky Lyth; Emma Greenhalgh; Jordan Lightbown and Joe Conlon.

Many of our members have taken part in Club National and Grand Prix races throughout the country and have already scoped quite a number of medals. After some very exciting racing David Ryding and Joanna Ryding successfully wrapped up the Grand Prix series with a race spare! Congratulations to you both.

A special mention too for Hannah Knowles who is well placed in the Celtic cup standings with one event left to go. Fingers crossed all goes well for her.

Pendle members are well represented in national squads and are already embarking on summer training in preparation for this winter’s international competitions. They are:-

David Ryding - GB Development Squad /Fulltime England A Team
Joanna Ryding – Part-time England A team
Jenny Mashitier –England Alpine A Squad
Katie Adams – British Children’s Squad

Finally I would like to invite you all to turn out for the Pendle Club National on Saturday 13th August. If you can’t compete just come along and give your support
